http://klubbliv.alltomstockholm.seHere is a full list by the way of the winner of Elly Awards this year (2016)! Maybe you already know I won the title of Female Trance DJ of the Year.
So when you make a track it’s important to structure your work. As a Trance DJ I find it is important to build your tracks so they are easy to mix in and out etc. I usually start in a specific order but sometimes I start with the main theme, so every time is different. Remember that music making is, and has to be, an organic process. It’s not science. It’s about creativity.
When I make a new Trance track I usually follow this order:
- Drums first (kick, snare, high hats, percussions)
-
Bassline
-
Main theme
-
Break down the main theme into intro and peak.
-
Pads
-
Breakdown
-
Adjust/change the beat, add something
-
Other components like arp, plucks etc.
-
Outro
-
Rough mix
-
Final mix
But sometimes I start with the main melody so this isnt exactly a blueprint but sort of how I do it. 😊
